INTERACTIVE EXHIBITION: BELENE – A BULGARIAN RESISTANCE STORY

What will happen when the witnesses to history are no longer with us?
We find new ways to keep their stories alive. Take a seat. Take a side.
The interactive exhibition “Belene – A Bulgarian Resistance Story” in Washington, D.C. provides visitors with the unique opportunity to have a conversation with Nikola Daskalov, a survivor of the Bulgarian gulag, through AI.
We invite you to explore Bulgaria’s journey from an Eastern Bloc country to a democratic nation, and EU & NATO member-state. The exhibition is celebrating democracy and 35 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall.
“Belene – A Bulgarian Resistance Story” will take place on June 12-14, 2024, 9am-3pm in the Victims of Communism Museum, Washington, D.C.
This exhibition is part of the Belene.Camp project (www.belene.camp), a pioneering effort of the Sofia Platform Foundation, with the support of the America for Bulgaria Foundation, to preserve the memory of Bulgaria's totalitarian past using state-of-the-art technology.
The exhibition was designed with the talent and creativity of Atelier 3 Architects, MP-STUDIOS, The Convo, Childish.аi, and Lens2Lens.
