Sofia Platform Foundation works within this context, focusing on civic education, historical memory, and practical forms of participation that strengthen democratic culture over time.

Part of the long-term mission of the Sofia Platform Foundation is to transform the remains of Bulgaria’s largest communist labour camp – Belene – into a place that not only preserves the memory of the regime’s victims, but also inspires active civic engagement, critical thinking, and responsibility for the future.
