Secondary education for hard-to-reach learners via e-learning

In summer 2019 we joined the project “Back to School/School 4.0”, funded by Erasmus+. Together with partners from Italy (CESIE, C.P.I.A. Montagna), Liechtenstein (ISB, Triagonal), Norway (Aftenskolen) and Spain ( Disprogram ) we are developing school materials particularly addressed to migrants, refugees and disadvantaged learners (often members of minority groups in remote areas). The main idea is to offer these materials in an E-learning format, thus providing online secondary education and a “second chance” route to qualification. Here, Sofia Platform is particularly contributing to school materials for the subject European Values and Democracy – the unique feature of this curriculum. It is designed to give learners a foundation from which they can both understand and fully participate in their communities. After the end of the project in August 2020 we hope that the innovative curriculum will receive recognition from institutions responsible for national and regional education in Europe.
