LAWYERS ASSISTING CIVIC EDUCATION TEACHERS (2020-2023)
A strong school curriculum on the subject of Civic Education is an essential condition to an informed and active civic participation. Here’s why, we joined forces with Street Law, DXC Technology and UnitedLex, and with the support of the US Embassy in Bulgaria launched a project called ‘Lawyers assisting Civic Education Teachers’. This project aims at supporting the work of civic education teachers in local schools by including lawyersas their assistants in class when teaching topics that focus on legal issues.
Activities
As a part of the project, we are preparing educational materials to assist the joint work of teachers and lawyers. Some topics that will be thought in class include: the rule of law, contract law, separation of powers, justice systems, etc.
Materials
The handbook can now be downloaded online here: Handbook on Civic Education for Legal Practitioners Supporting Teachers in Class
