Our training in Belene is part of ‘The Christmas Miracles of Bulgaria’
Between November 20 and December 20, each day a new gift is revealed in the calendar of good deeds at chudesata.bg - a cause, a volunteer campaign, a charity bazaar, an educational event, a nature conservation activity, or an inspiring personal story. The calendar reveals moments from the daily work of civic organizations that support vulnerable groups, strengthen culture, protect nature, or simply do small good deeds because they care.
Each window in the calendar is actually an invitation to participate:
- to attend an event
- to support a cause
- to volunteer
- to share the story
Our contribution to the calendar focuses on Bulgarian teachers. Between December 5 and 7, we are hosting our free civic education training in the town of Belene - a site of memory that offers important context for addressing difficult topics in our history.
The training supports educators in addressing polarizing questions, disinformation, and sensitive social issues through interactive methods, social-emotional learning, and hands-on activities. The program also includes a visit to the site of the former Belene labor camp.
We believe that when we care for teachers, we care for students - and through them, for the future.

The Christmas Miracles of Bulgaria brings visibility to the efforts of civil society that often remain unseen. The campaign reminds us that kindness is not an abstract concept, but something we can all practice — with time, attention, or a small gesture that can change someone’s life.
